What Columbus does to a pool
Columbus pools live through a full four season cycle every year, and the winter half of it is what shapes the work. The ground freezes, thaws, and freezes again, and it takes decks, coping and skimmer throats with it. Almost every leak found in a Columbus pool in May was made the previous January by water somebody left in a line.
The other constant is the tree canopy. The older neighborhoods on the west and north sides are full of silver maple, oak and sycamore, and a pool under any of them deals with helicopter seeds in May, a solid month of leaf drop in October, and roots quietly pushing on a wall panel the whole time.
The pools we see here
Vinyl liner pools, mostly, and a lot of them are on their second or third liner. Columbus built a wave of backyard pools through the seventies and eighties, which means steel wall panels that are now forty years old, original skimmers that have separated at the throat, and single speed pumps that have been rebuilt more than once.
There are plenty of above ground pools too, especially on the west side, and they get the same attention here as an inground pool. A lot of companies will not touch them.

Fox Pools sent Cameron and Shea out to look at damage to PVC caused in the winter and to help us make the switch to Salt system. They took pictures asked great questions, got us an estimate and then scheduled to make the repairs and upgrades while having to fabricate some parts for our old heat pump.
